MOCKERY IN THE LAST DAYS
Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:17-18
As we open our eyes and see what is going on around us, let us be confident in Christ’s return. Peter’s letter is designed to stir up the minds of its readers including us. We must constantly be on guard so we are not led away from the truth, God’s Word.
The Word of God is under attack and the people of God are under attack. Some in the world claim that God does not intervene in world affairs because He has not moved. However, Peter calls attention to two past events; the Creation, the Flood, and the future end of the present heavens and earth. God does move but in His own time.
While God is long-suffering in sending judgment, ultimately it will come. One must remember that God’s time is unlike man’s time. One day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. Let us not lose faith in God while He displays mercy and grace to all. We are living in the last days, we know things the world is ignorant of. Let us pray that hearts are open to the truth and people will come to believe in God before it is too late. Let us live lives of holiness, steadfastness, and growth in Christ. Let us be an example of Jesus until that new day dawns.
Let’s Pray.
Father God, thank You for a new day that is coming. We see the signs of the time unfolding before us. Help us to be confident that one day You will return. Help us to put our trust in You and continue to push through despite the things we see and hear. You are our Deliverer, our refuge and our strength. We thank You for the precious promises we hold fast to by faith. Help us lead lives that glorify You and prayerfully impact the lives of those around us. We know Your desire is for all to be saved. Have Your way in our lives Lord. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Be Blessed Because You are Blessed,
Pastor Donald and Sister Hyon Brown
