TRUST IN GOD’S SALVATION
Habakkuk 3:19
19 The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
In Habakkuk Chapter 3, we find the prophet Habakkuk prays for God’s mercy. The nation of Judah had been repeatedly called to repentance but refuses to change its sinful ways. Habakkuk asks God how long this sin condition can continue. God responds by saying the Babylonians will be his chastening rod upon the nation.
Habakkuk acknowledges God’s wisdom in the coming invasion of Judah. And though he was somewhat terrified of what was coming, he trusted the Lord. Habakkuk had confidence in the Lord because of His redemptive work in the past. We all would do well to remember what God has done for us as well and what He desires to do in the present.
Habakkuk had hope in what could have been despair. He said, “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” (Habakkuk 3:18) It is during times of danger and weary circumstances that we must realize God has blessed us with hinds feet to scale the difficult terrain we may face in life. Yes, even in the high places because He has blessed us with the ability to overcome life’s obstacles. We believe God! Let us run to Him in trust and belief.
Let’s Pray.
Father God, thank You for equipping us with hinds’ feet to overcome the obstacles we face in life. We can climb as mountain goats traversing rugged and hilly terrain because You Lord have enabled us. No matter the problems we encounter, let us go forth with confidence knowing we can overcome them with You. Help us Lord to follow Habakkuk’s example in saying, “I will joy in the God of my salvation.” We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Be Blessed Because You are Blessed,
