WHEN I FALL, I SHALL ARISE
Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me. Micah 7:8
The writer Micah says, “rejoice not against me, O mine enemy; when I fall, I shall arise. Samaria and Judah had sinned against God. Micah was called to deliver a stern message of judgment against them. Though they were down as a result of there sin, there was a message of hope and restoration.
Though they were down, they were not out because of the sovereign God we serve. God’s justice will triumph, the divine Deliverer will come and restoration can take place. We can get up and repent for our failing to realize what God requires of us.
I will look unto the Lord and wait upon Him, for He is the God of my salvation. Even in our failings, we do not have to remain there. While there is defeat in staying down, victory awaits those who trusts in God and arise. God executes judgment but also delights to extend mercy. When I fall, I shall arise. Thank God for His mercy.
Let’s Pray.
Father God, we are thankful for Your mercy and grace. Thank You for being a forgiving God. We pray for our nation to turn to you and seek Your face. Your Word says that righteousness exalts a nation. We seek You Lord on behalf of our nation and its leaders. We pray for a Revival in the land. We need to hear from You Lord. Though we have fallen, through You we can arise. Touch our hearts Lord, draw us close to You. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
