AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

Luke 17:15-16. 15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

God has done great and marvelous things for us, whereby we all should be grateful. However, that is not always the case in life. Many take the blessings of God for granted.

In the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 17, Jesus passed through Samaria and Galilee as He went to Jerusalem. As He entered into a certain village, He met 10 men who were lepers. They cried out to the Lord, have mercy on us. Jesus replied, telling them to go show themselves to the priests. As they went, they were cleansed.

One man, when he saw he was healed, turned back and glorified God. He fell on his face at the feet and gave thanks for what was done for Him. He displayed an attitude of gratitude. Jesus asked where are the others, were there not nine other men healed? They showed no attitude of gratitude but rather continued on their way.

Let us not be like the other nine lepers that were healed. Rather, let us display an attitude of gratitude for all God does for us. Let us be grateful to Him every day, not just on Thanksgiving day.

Let’s Pray.

Father God, thank You for all You do and have done. You are great and greatly to be praised. We give You thanksgiving for You alone are worthy. Help us to always be mindful of You and to give You praise every day You allow us to live. It is through You that we live and move and have our being. Thank You Lord. Have Your way in our lives, be thou glorifed. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Be Blessed Because You are Blessed,

Pastor Donald and Sister Hyon Brown
