FACING CIRCUMSTANCES
2 Corinthians 11:24-27
Paul faced much adversity in his life for the cause of Christ. Understand and receive this, we are no different than Paul. We too face circumstances in our lives. Note: In the midst of our circumstances we need to know that God’s purpose is to do us good.
Sure, we will face pain, sickness, suffering and ultimately death. None of this however, comes from God. God is good. He has given us healing, deliverance, and most importantly, eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. His blessings and all we have or could ever hope for comes from Him.
There will be times when we are going to suffer. There will be times when our faith will be tried and tested. Our livelihood may be attacked and we may suffer loss. But if we put our trust in God we will not be defeated. God will give us the victory in spite of the circumstances, believe that.
The text says Paul was beaten, stoned, in shipwrecks, in perils of water and robbers, in weariness and pain, hunger, thirst, and more. Yet, he was not worried or discouraged. In Philippians 3:8 he said, I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them as dung, that I may win Christ. He was not concerned with obtaining material things or the loss of it, he trusted in God. Let us endeavor to do the same, not only as Paul but as Jesus Christ, our ultimate example.
Let’s Pray.
Father God, thank You for life, health, and strength. We acknowledge You are the One that keepeth us. In the midst of our circumstances help us to remember You are the One that causeth us to triumph. Thank You Lord that no weapons formed against us shall prosper. We have Your Word on it. We can trust You at Your Word, for You are faithful and just. We desire to be faithful to You, help us Lord even the more as we go through our tests and trials. Be thou glorified as we go forth and make our boast in You. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Be Blessed Because You are Blessed,
